This week Joel digs into the double portion Acharei Mot, “after the death” and Kedoshim, “holy ones.” Did you know that Kedoshim marks the very center of the Torah? In Hebrew thought, time is circular not linear so the Rabbis have taught that Kedoshim would be the epicenter of the Torah like a pebble dropped in a pond it ripples out throughout the whole pond until it reaches the edges. In the case of the Torah the edges would be Genesis on one side and Deuteronomy on the other. In Genesis 1 we can read about the Earth being void and full of darkness; For all intents and purposes, death. In Deuteronomy 34 we read about the death of Moses, the great prophet and light of Israel. Join Joel Allen as he teaches on the mystery of Kedoshim and the practical application of holiness.
